The polyhedron
Webb20 nov. 2015 · Assuming you have a convex polyhedron with counterclockwise oriented faces (seen from outside), it should be sufficient to check that your point is behind all faces. To do that, you can take the vector from the point to each face and check the sign of the scalar product with the face's normal. WebbPrism (geometry) In geometry, a prism is a polyhedron comprising an n-sided polygon base, a second base which is a translated copy (rigidly moved without rotation) of the first, and n other faces, necessarily all parallelograms, joining corresponding sides of the two bases. All cross-sections parallel to the bases are translations of the bases.

In geometry, a polyhedron (plural polyhedra or polyhedrons; from Greek πολύ (poly-) 'many', and εδρον (-hedron) 'base, seat') is a three-dimensional shape with flat polygonal faces, straight edges and sharp corners or vertices. A convex polyhedron is the convex hull of finitely many points, not all on the same … Visa mer Convex polyhedra are well-defined, with several equivalent standard definitions. However, the formal mathematical definition of polyhedra that are not required to be convex has been problematic. Many … Visa mer Many of the most studied polyhedra are highly symmetrical, that is, their appearance is unchanged by some reflection or rotation … Visa mer The name 'polyhedron' has come to be used for a variety of objects having similar structural properties to traditional polyhedra. Apeirohedra Visa mer From the latter half of the twentieth century, various mathematical constructs have been found to have properties also present in traditional polyhedra. Equal regular faces Convex polyhedra where every face is the same kind of regular … Visa mer WebbA polyhedron is a three-dimensional figure composed of faces. Each face is a filled-in polygon and meets only one other face along a complete edge. The ends of the edges meet at points that are called vertices. A polyhedron always encloses a three-dimensional region. The plural of polyhedron is polyhedra. Here are some drawings of polyhedra:
WebbIn geometry, a uniform polyhedron is a polyhedron which has regular polygons as faces and is vertex-transitive (transitive on its vertices, isogonal, i.e. there is an isometry mapping any vertex onto any other). It follows that all vertices are congruent, and the polyhedron has a high degree of reflectional and rotational symmetry.. Uniform polyhedra can be divided … Webbpolyhedron, In Euclidean geometry, a three-dimensional object composed of a finite number of polygonal surfaces (faces).
