Web1 Aug 2013 · I have had a hard second gear shift on my TH400 since I got the car 5 years ago. I just decided to address it. I checked fluid level, vacuum at modulator is 15 and engine is tuned but problem exists. I bought a B &M adjustable modulator. After install no difference. I adjusted it out two turns and it was a little better. Web2 Jul 2009 · Re: th350 vacuum modulator q's If you don't have a manual valve body, you still need the modulator to upshift the transmission. The modulator needs up to 16 in Hg to operate. If your vaccum signal is too low, the transmission won't shift properly. Web4 Sep 2013 · UNLESS you have a TH400 3 speed HD automatic transmission, which I HIGHLY doubt being it's a 1500 with a 4.3, you won't have a vacuum modulator. UNLESS someone swapped an older TH350 or TH400 transmission into the truck. Instead you'll have what called a TV cable, or throttled valve cable.
Web18 Dec 2009 · It is a Turbo 350C. The "C" designating a Turbo 350 with lock up converter. In addition, it has the 4 prong electrical plug on the driver's side.
