You need to tap into the ground wire. It might be difficult to tap right at the connector so you can simply follow the wires further up for better access. WebSep 3, 2010 · II. you could connect it to the switched +12, but that will bypass the brake pedal. I don't know if the prius has a sensor on the parking brake. usually they are ground based (connect to ground when the brake is on) anyhow.. if there IS a ground based sensor, then you will have to install a relay which switches.
