WebApr 4, 2024 · Crossness Pumping Station in London was officially opened on the 4th of April 1865. This magnificent building, nowadays a museum, was part of Sir Joseph Bazalgette’s sewarage system. I visited there twice in the very beginning of the new Millennium and wrote articles for two Finnish water magazines. WebGreenwich Pumping Station, known until circa 1986 as Deptford Pumping Station, [1] is a sewage pumping station in the London Borough of Greenwich built in 1865 to the east of Deptford Creek. It is part of the London sewerage system devised by Sir Joseph Bazalgette in the mid 19th century.
