WebIt is a measure of the ability of a magnetic material to resist demagnetization, i.e., the permanency of a material’s magnetization. The term coercivity is often used interchangeably with coercive field, the term for any magnetic field that reduces magnetization to zero whether or not the material was previously magnetized to saturation.
